Went to AH yesterday to collect my report and see the doctor. I was a little displeased with the fact that the doctor told me that another doctor will be in a better position to give me advice on what to do and told me to go back again today. Although I was angry, I still let them arrange an appointment for me today, not knowing that the appointment is in the morning. Anyway, I have no choice but to see him in the morning.
So I took a half day leave to see the doctor and he told me that I had a 3-5mm stone in my left salivary gland. There can be many reasons how it was formed but he was unsure about it. From the scan, there seemed to be another smaller one next to this. So well, he advised me to get rid of it before it grows bigger and causes even more problems.
He told me he will first insert a scope into my duct to try to fish the stone out. However, if it is unsuccessful, he will have to operate on my neck to remove the stones together with the salivary gland. Sounds pretty scary as he mentioned it is close to my nerves and may affect my mouth. After hearing all these, I was pretty scared. Plus he had with him 4 trainee doctors. They each took turn to feel the lump in my throat. I guess, they will also follow him into the operating theatre when I'm having the surgery.
I left AH and went back to school to teach my form class. After school, went to NUH to sign the documents as I will be having my surgery there instead of AH. What a hassle! My surgery will be during the PSLE marking days. So I guess my lessons will not be affected much unless I take more than a week to recover.
So Christians out there, please pray for me that everything will go smoothly, that I do not have to be operated on. And also the whole process will not be painful and I will recover in a week. From now till then, I have more than a month. I pray that there will not be pain and a miracle will happen.

My love...
This is a super stretching month... for my bank account... all my friends' babies are in their first month or celebrating their birthday!
I was going to show all the babies' photos... but the photos just don't load up well. So I can't show all of you my love... :(
Anyway, I'm VERY tired. Every day is long working hours. Events after events.. I wonder when all these will end. I can't wait for the year to end and move into 2011. I can't wait to see my "bro" joining me in work in 2011.
My schedule for this week...
Mon: Vegetable farm after school.
Tue: YOG Handball after school.
Wed: Children's Day meeting after school (but I'm going for medical appointment)
Thu: My only day of rest
Fri: Netball after school
Will next week be better? How can I finish marking this way? I'm really tired. Never felt so tired and unmotivated before.

A different experience
Rushed a cab to AH this morning. The staff at the main entrance opened the door for me and waited for me to get off the cab.
When I reached the CT scan department, I waited for a short while and was greeted by smiley staff... She told me change into their gown and put on an extra cover becos it will be very cold inside.
I was given a catheter again!!! I couldn't believe it... The doctor didn't tell me last week! I was very cool when I stepped in, but started perspiring when the nurse told me about it. Anyway, this time it is on my left hand and it wasn't as painful as before...
It was really cold in the scanning room. I shivered (don't know whether fear played a part). They explained to me that they will be pumping dye into my body so that it will be clearer in the scan.
I was told to close my eyes, not to move and not to move or swallow saliva at certain point. The minute the dye entered my body, I could feel the flow from my left hand to other parts of the body. Interesting thing was, it was chilling and numb on my left hand, but hot sensation on other parts of the body. I was fascinated by this creation of God... :)
After the scan, an elderly staff attended to me and asked if I want a cup of Milo because I was on a fast the past few hours. Then the removal of the catheter wasn't as painful too. So thank God for that. Excellent service by this department. They were assuring and friendly. I did a survey for them, giving them full marks!
Then I went to their cafeteria for breakfast. Quite a tranquil place. Maybe next week I should bring my work their to mark when I visit the doctor again. :)
I took a cab back. The cab driver told me to have a great day when I alighted at my area.
I thank God that although I had an unhappy day in school, but was greeted and treated with respect outside.

Breath-taking sights are Marina Bay Sands!
Last night my mum suddenly told me that her friend has a room in Marina Bay Sands and she was thinking if she should go. Of course I encouraged her because it was a rare chance to visit the hotel and the SkyPark. In the end, I drove her there and had a chance to see the best view of Singapore. Enjoy the beautiful scenery taken by my humble digital camera again...
This swimming pool is awesome!!!! It looks like you might just fall over the other side. Sorry for the blur picture.
And the skyline of Singapore is ooOOooOOo!
Ok the rest of the photos are taking a long time to load and I'm retiring to bed. So I'm stopping here. Nothing beats seeing the view for yourself. It is worth the trip and money!

YOG Opening Ceremony Rehearsal
I went for YOG Opening Ceremony Rehearsal with one student last Saturday. Took some really nice photos with my humble digital camera.. Enjoy!
That's all I have to offer for now... looking forward to watch the real Opening Ceremony tomorrow. But I guess I won't be at home.. If you are home, do switch on the TV to watch!
Look at the picture below. Notice the Singapore flag at the underside of Marina Bay Sands?
Too much smoke after fireworks. But I still managed to capture some fireworks!
The cute Merly and Lyo!

Exciting day!
6 August
This day marks my 10th year in City Harvest Church as a Christian. Time flies. 10 years passed by just like that. This is also my BFF, Eunice's birthday! She's also the one who brought me to church. This day also marks her engagement to MK!!!
At 10.30pm, Wen, Kenneth, Alan, Thow Wee and I gathered at Marina Barrage to set up a romantic area for MK's proposal to Eunice. Due to communication breakdown, by the time MK came with Eunice, the candles were blown off by wind and made wet by the unexpected water sprinkler which came off at 12 midnight. We had a good laugh after that.
Re-enactment of the proposal scene cos I did not get to see him kneeling down to propose.
Congratulations to my dearest BFF!!!
I shall blog about YOG opening Ceremony in the next entry since the photo refused to be uploaded.

气死人篇
Ep. 1
Me: Boys, wear red tshirt and sch shorts tomorrow.
Boy 1: I have red shorts, can I wear red shorts?
Ep. 2
Me: You only need to bring water bottle tomorrow.
Girl 1: Do we need to bring pencil box?
Boy 2: Can we bring a small bag?
Boy 1 again: How about CCA?
I swear, my heart hurt badly, literally, at these nonsense. I couldn't carry on with their nonsense and had to leave.
Maybe the milk we drank are different? Those that I drank when I was young was less processed. So I grow and did the processing of thoughts myself. Nowadays the milk powder are so powerfully processed with lots of vitamins. So the kids grow differently and they don't process their thoughts cos all the processing were done by others. Sigh! 气死我了!!

Hospital experience..
I'm experiencing chest pain and swollen left lymph node at the moment. I went to Geylang Polyclinic yesterday and saw some poor old people.
Old lady 1 sat next to me at registration kept asking me if it was her turn already... Hmm.. They don't even recognize numbers and no one was with them.
Old lady 2 seemed to have giddy spells... The nurse brought her outside the room and told her to wait for her turn. The minute she sat down, she exaggeratingly shook as if she's falling even though she's already seated. After asking some people, apparently we can still feel the giddy spell while sitting down. Again, no one was with her. How come???! It is so dangerous for these old people to visit the doctor on their own.
After seeing the doctor, she referred me to Alexandra A&E to do a more thorough checkup. So I went home to bathe and took a cab down.
Old lady 3 was in Alexandra Hospital. She shouted for the nurse for more than 30minutes and nobody attended to her. As she was speaking in Cantonese, I couldn't help her as I don't understand the language. Finally, she grabbed hold of a nurse and got her. Then she left. Not sure what's wrong with her. Another poor old lady on her own.
Anyway, my hospital trip was scary. Was given a catheter on my right hand to draw blood for checks. It was so painful that i almost cried. Did urine test, ECG and Xray of throat and heart. The catheter remained on my hand for a few hours and I was in deep pain for that few hours while sitting on a chair in the A&E.
When all the test results were out, the doctor said everything seems fine but he gave me 3 days mc and told me to go back again next Wed. Then the nurse came to remove the catheter. She was so rough that when she pulled the tape off, the catheter came off with it. I almost cried again. What a torturous trip to the hospital. At the end of the day, I was given panadol and a bottle of solution to gargle in case of mouth infection. Hmmm.. I don't see any link of the medicine and my condition. How can we just eat panadol for every pain??! Was too tired to ask further and I left. Maybe I should just go to a heart specialist. Shall do that if the pain continues...

Updates
Another long break from blogging... I guess I have given up on blogging on Xinjiang trip..
Anyway, I have been busy clearing backdated marking. Finally cleared one stack another two stacks to go and I'm not very motivated to do them because I know there will be lots of re-re-re-corrections. I wonder when children will open their eyes and seriously do their work instead of making silly mistakes that requires them to correct and recorrect many times. I am sick of marking such nonsense.
Other than that, I think my life is getting boring. It has been a long time since I've been out with my colleagues cum friends. I miss hanging out with them on Friday nights... I miss our tennis and supper sessions.
I've been slacking at home on Saturdays if Eunice and MK didn't go for svc with me. Yes. I'm always the lightbulb. I think we are all used to it. :p No activities at all is killing me! But then again, I enjoy staying at home. Let's see when I will start enjoying going for breakfast, lunch and dinner on my own. Then I will also go shopping, watch a movie and jog on my own at East Coast Park. :)
Anyway, I need the sparks in my life again! I need to find the energy to do the things that I like! I spent 3 hours singing today. I need to train my vocals more... I need to dream and dare to step out into the unknown! I need God!!!
